Luno Large Cap Bundle

The Luno Large Cap Bundle is a crypto investment package that comprises the top 5-10 cryptocurrencies based on their market value. It is designed to follow the CoinDesk Large Cap Select Index (DLCS) with the objective of effectively managing and maintaining investment strategies for investors.

For this project, I joined midway through, with research, design, and development at various stages.

The team

I collaborated closely with a group of talented professionals including a UX writer, data analyst, PM, and a team of skilled engineers. To ensure seamless integration with other ongoing projects, I had to regularly teamup with other product designers, promoting design consistency while avoiding any unnecessary duplication of work.

Outside of the immediate team, I collaborated with UX researchers and the marketing team to ensure that the product's overall vision and goals were well-aligned and effectively communicated to our target audience.

The Challenge

Joining the project midway provided some unique challenges for myself such as:

  1. • Reviewing and understanding existing research and the decisions made
  2. • Understanding the new product and how it works
  3. • How existing processes work at Luno
  4. • Familiarise with the design system
Research

My initial task was to review and analyse past research, user surveys, user interviews, and analytics data.

From my analysis I identified some key pain points that users were experiencing with the app, such as not fully understanding the product, poor navigation, and a lack of clear call-to-actions.

Design Iteration + testing

My initial task was to examine the research that had already been conducted, consisting of user surveys, interviews, and analytics data. This research had been undertaken by external agencies working directly with the previous designer.

Upon reviewing the data, I identified several critical issues that users faced with the design. Some of these pain points included a lack of comprehension of the product, ineffective navigation, and inadequate call-to-actions.

After identifying the key pain points, I developed two solutions to test with users to validate that they worked better than previous designs. If 75% of users comprehended the new solutions, we would consider the designs validated for production.

Phased release

After validating the designs and gathering sufficient quantitative data, I collaborated with the product manager to develop a release plan for the new Luno Large Cap Bundles app features. Given the complexity of the new features, we decided to release the core functionality first to internal testers to collect feedback and identify any bugs. Once the internal testing was complete, we planned to launch the app on iOS TestFlight before releasing it to the public.

More details of the product can be found at Luno's website.
